Some of our most active partners and organisations expressing interest in the accelerator are not the venture capital firms as one might expect, but corporates. This is not surprising as the startup investment landscape has shifted over the past few years.
For example, let us take a look at our friends - The Founders Factory, one of the leading London-based accelerators. The idea there is 'innovation partnership' between the startups and large corporates e.g. Vodafone, EasyJet, L'Oreal and others. As an established firm, you need to innovate faster, adjusting to changing conditions. Natural next step is to get hands-on with startups that are working on the very edge of your respective field and an accelerator provides convenient means of finding, growing and investing into these startups.
This is a huge subject and we have barely scratched the surface of the truly fascinating rise of corporate-backed VC funds and accelerators. It does, however (hopefully) helps to illustrate our approach where we connect bright talents not only with investors but also with the potential corporate clients.
